George DeGroat is a dedicated therapist with a background in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and a passion for working with trauma patients. He attended Saint Augustine's University for his undergraduate education and earned his master's in Social Work from George Mason University. He also has a masters degree in Business and Leadership. His journey in the field has been driven by a commitment to healing and empowerment.


George has had the privilege of working extensively with youth entangled in the challenges of gang life, navigating the complex web of trauma that often accompanies such experiences. His focus extends to the unique struggles faced by young African American individuals, providing a safe and understanding space for those encountering difficulties in coping with life's adversities.


Through the lens of CBT, George strives to empower individuals to identify and transform negative thought patterns, fostering resilience and promoting positive behavioral change. Geravis Brown

MA, LMHP

Geravis A. Brown Jr. is a highly skilled therapist specializing in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with a focus on trauma patients. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), where he received his Bachelor of Psychology in December 2005. Geravis furthered his education with a Master of Science in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Arts in Counseling from Liberty University.


Throughout his career, Geravis has gained extensive experience working with both youth and adults. He has served as a residential counselor at the Pines Juvenile Treatment facility and worked with the Portsmouth Department of Social Services as a CPS Investigator for two years. With over 13 years of experience as an in-home clinician, Geravis has dedicated his career to assisting at-risk juvenile populations and has expanded his expertise to include providing compassionate and effective therapy for adults.


Geravis is committed to helping individuals navigate the complexities of trauma and life's adversities. By employing CBT, he empowers his clients to identify and transform negative thought patterns, fostering resilience and promoting positive behavioral change.
